BREAKING: Now-Patched "Sonic Save Glitch" Allowed Players at Gamescom to See BIg, Amy, and Knuckles!

DISCLAIMER: Ok. This story has already passed by and been resolved by the time I found out about it. HOWEVER, the repercussions will be felt throughout the remaining three days of the event. Also With that, let's proceed

For the uninitiated, Gamescom is an annual trade show for gamers and developers to meet so gamers ca try off the new products developers announce during the corresponding livestreams in Cologne, Germany. Think of PAX or E3, but in Europe.

According to several twitter users spreading the word, one or more Sonic Frontiers Demo players got far into the demo by abusing the skate 3-esque save state system. The staff were... shocked to put it lightly, because they then realized that someone down the line forgot to enable the autosave system that saves progress at the end of each 15-minute session. Oops. That meant the next person in line could continue from where the previous person left off.

Twitter user @Bibouboul posted this screenshot showcasing what Big The Cat looks like in this game, which is kinda spoiler-y.

SPOILER ALERT!

Wow, Big sure looks good in this game, doesn't he?

Now, after 15 minutes, all save files on the kiosk/screen/pc are deleted. Also, recording footage is banned. However, Youtube user Coolred7367 has got his subscribers covered with footage of Amy being rescued, and Eggman in Cyberspace.

Since the videos will likely be removed from Youtube in due course, here's the archived screenshots of the Amy cutscene, and the Eggman cutscene. Also, SPOILER ALERT!!

And that concludes my coverage of Gamescom Sonic Frontiers happenings. I hope you enjoyed it. See you next time with more coverage of, and hopefully a review of, Sonic Frontiers.
